In a big city, with a town-like feeling, known for its sightseeing and welcoming community, the Spurs seem as low key as the residents. Different a few players known for their off or on court antics, the Spurs are comparatively quiet with small or no events.

When previous Spur Dennis Rodman played, he frequently caused fights with previous teams and was frequently depicted by the media as a awful boy. in spite of his rebounding skills and aptitude to help win games, he was traded following just two years.

The Spurs share a sole bond with the city of San Antonio that is supreme by other teams. Spurs players, coaches, front office workers, Silver Dancers, Coyote and former player George Gervin make more than 1,200 appearances in the neighbourhood every year.

Annually, the Spurs and Spurs Foundation hold up more than 1,800 area associations with in-kind or cash contributions. They loan their names to a variety of charities for health support, at-risk youth, staying in school campaigns and literacy programs.

The Spurs live in a little market (despite San Antonio being the seventh main city in U.S.A, the entire metro area is simply the 37th largest media market) and opt for endorsing city or state based companies by portion as the spokesperson. Instances include Tim Duncan for H-E-B,Ginobili for Time Warner of San Antonio and together Sean Elliott and Tony Parker for Taco Cabana.

Former Spurs, even though not having preceding ties to the city, choose to settle in San Antonio after their departure and continue their community participation. A small number of key names are George "The Iceman" Gervin, Sean Elliott and David "The Admiral" Robinson.
